Job Title: Crane Operator

Irving Shipbuilding is seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join our team. As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating mobile and overhead cranes to lift, move, and place equipment and materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate mobile and overhead cranes to lift, move, and place equipment and materials
  • Perform pre-operational inspections, safety checks, test lifts, and load chart calculations
  • Communicate with site leadership to determine the best placement of crane for planned lifts
  • Ensure that all rigging operations are carried out in a safe manner
  • Service the hoist and swing equipment used to move machinery, materials, and other large objects
  • Assist with the crane assembly onsite
  • Wear company-issued coveralls and/or work wear, and all assigned Personal Protective Equipment
  • Work safely
Requirements:
  • Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
  • Mobile Crane Operator with a Class 1 ticket
  • Overhead Traveling Crane Operator endorsement
  • High standard of integrity and professionalism
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as being self-motivated to be able to work without supervision when required
