Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement research security programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and international regulations.
- Provide expert advice on research security-related topics, including risk assessment, mitigation, and management.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and external partners, to ensure the highest standards of research integrity and compliance.
- Conduct research and analysis on research security-related topics, including geopolitical trends and their impact on research security.
- Develop and deliver training and awareness-building sessions on research security-related topics to relevant stakeholders.
- Consult with and advise senior university officials on research security-related matters.
- Develop and maintain subject matter expertise on research security-related government policies and regulations.
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as research administration, policy analysis, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in research administration, policy analysis, or a related field.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing research security programs, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct research and analysis on complex research security-related topics.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high degree of diplomacy and discretion.
- Ph.D. in a relevant field, such as research administration, policy analysis, or a related field.
- Experience working in a research-intensive university or organization.
- Experience with Canadian public policy regarding research security and geopolitical risk.
- Up-to-date knowledge of federal, provincial, and international regulations regarding research security, institutional compliance, and responsible conduct of research.
- Proven ability to develop relationships and interact with people in a professional, respectful, and diplomatic manner.
