Millwright

We are looking for a Millwright at our Walker Compost & Packaging Facility in Arthur, ON.
Our millwrights perform preventive and curative maintenance on a wide variety of mobile and fixed plant equipment at our site in Arthur, ON. We will consider both licensed millwrights and millwright apprentices. This position will be reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Key responsibilities:
- Inspecting machinery and equipment to detect defects and irregularities.
- Using welding equipment and power tools to fabricate parts during maintenance or set-up of machinery.
- Interpreting blueprints and schematic drawings to follow work procedures.
- Troubleshooting in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and requirements.
- Repairing or replacing defective components using hand and power tools.
- Designing, welding and manufacturing custom parts when needed.
- Performing PMs.
- Exercising good judgement and discretion in prioritizing maintenance repairs.
- Demonstrating a strong commitment to established safety protocols and best work practices.
Qualifications:
- Millwright license, completion of an apprenticeship program in industrial machinery repair or millwrighting, or in progress.
- Experience as a heavy duty equipment mechanic (421A) is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to details makes sure work is done correctly and thoroughly. Keeping accurate records.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety and environmental regulations and legislation.
- Able to work with limited supervision and to take discretionary action as required.
We run three shifts:
- Days - Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Afternoons - Monday to Thursday, 2:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
- Weekends - Friday to Sunday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
