Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

De Luxe, a leading manufacturer of food services, dairy products, confectionery, industrial and medical packaging, is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for managing internal and external resources and systems to ensure the availability of plant equipment, improving equipment reliability, and maintaining a safe work environment. This role will also involve supervising a team of maintenance personnel, implementing and improving the preventive maintenance program, and participating in Gemba tours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage internal and external resources and systems to ensure the availability of plant equipment
  • Improve equipment reliability and maintain a safe work environment
  • Supervise a team of maintenance personnel
  • Implement and improve the preventive maintenance program
  • Participate in Gemba tours and take corrective measures
  • Maintain machines, tools, and equipment in good working order
  • Responsible for maintaining the building in good condition
  • Participate in establishing healthy and profitable relationships with suppliers
  • Member of the OHS committee
  • Identify failures and recommend improvements
  • Implementation and maintenance of maintenance software
  • Responsible for automation diagnostics and intervention
  • Present and manage capital projects
  • Responsible for emergency measures
  • Responsible for rolling equipment
  • Responsible for interior and exterior building
  • Supervise the technical buyer and maintenance supervisor
  • Identify value-added projects, development plans, schedules, and costs
  • Manage external contractors and ensure compliance with safety and hygiene requirements
  • Improved equipment reliability by working in collaboration with the maintenance team
  • Liaise between manufacturing and technical service in implementing technology and process changes
  • Proactively communicate and keep senior managers informed of work progress, results, and process performance
  • Collaborate on "Lean" activities to improve product quality and operating processes
Requirements
  • Experience in staff supervision
  • Ability to work in a constantly changing environment
  • Recognized knowledge of hydraulic and electronic mechanics
  • Comfort with computers and new software
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate professionalism, organization, monitoring/rigor
  • Good sense of initiative; dynamism
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, unifier ability
  • Ability to communicate in French and English orally and in writing
  • 5 years of relevant experience in an SME in a unionized manufacturing environment or similar
  • Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers to understand and resolve issues
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the company
  • Project management skills combined with a practical approach that aims to achieve objectives
  • Ability to use structured problem-solving methods that aim to achieve results
  • Experience in value-added manufacturing methods (Lean Manufacturing) is an asset
  • Masters key software programs (Excel, Word, Microsoft Project)
