The University of Ottawa's School of Epidemiology and Public Health invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Biostatistics.

About the School

The School is a young and vibrant environment with research and teaching foci in multiple Health-related fields. It offers a discipline-based graduate program, and participates in interdisciplinary graduate programs, professional undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, and professional development activities.

About the Position

We seek applicants with a strong background in Biostatistics to contribute to the enhancement of graduate student training in this area. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct a vigorous program of independent, externally funded research.

Duties
  • Teaching activities, including the development and delivery of courses in Biostatistics;
  • Scholarly activities, including research and publication in top-tier journals;
  • Academic service activities, including service on departmental and university committees;
  • Supervision of graduate students, including the development and mentoring of students in Biostatistics.
Requirements
  • PhD in Biostatistics (preferred) or a PhD in Statistics (with a demonstrated specialization/concentration in Biostatistics) or a PhD in Epidemiology (or related degree) with a demonstrated specialization/concentration in Biostatistics;
  • A commitment to teaching and graduate training in Biostatistics;
  • A strong record of accomplishment in interdisciplinary collaboration;
  • Excellent communication skills.
