The University Health Network (UHN) is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its multi-disciplinary team in the Emergency Department at Toronto Western Hospital. As a member of this team, you will practice in accordance with relevant legislation, the UHN Professional Practice Model, and the mission and vision of nursing at UHN.
**Job Description**
As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will provide compassionate, collaborative, and competent care to patients in a highly acute and challenging setting. You will work effectively and efficiently within an interdisciplinary patient care team, using a wide variety of clinical skills, including critical thinking. You will also have the opportunity to develop emergency medicine skills through UHN's sponsorship of the Emergency Department Certificate program through Humber College.
**Key Responsibilities**
• Provide compassionate, collaborative, and competent care to patients in the Emergency Department
• Ensure practice is consistent with professional standards and the ethical framework as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario and UHN policy and procedure
• Demonstrate commitment to professional lifelong learning by participating in continuing education activities
• Perform reflective practice, analyzing and evaluating nursing knowledge and modifying practice accordingly
• Perform cross-functional and other responsibilities as assigned and/or requested
**Qualifications**
• Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification
• Flexible and able to work effectively and efficiently within an interdisciplinary patient care team
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Excellent computer skills
• BScN degree preferred
