The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Capital Engineer to join our Reliability and Work Execution team in a temporary position. Reporting to the Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for the efficient selection and management of distribution line projects and processes within the T&D Capital Execution team while ensuring that project management methodology is followed. You will be part of a team integrating new technologies into our business.

Note: This is a temporary position with an expected end date of June 30, 2025.

As Capital Engineer you will:

    • Work closely with other technical and operating groups to ensure projects are successfully defined, planned, and implemented.
    • Develop procedures to track completion of feeder inspection deficiencies in the field.
    • Identify and address process and technology improvements in the feeder inspection program.
    • Develop processes to maintain efficient deployment of our capital program.
    • Report on progress of the feeder inspection program KPIs thought program dashboard construction.

You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of your co-workers by observing all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.

You recognize yourself in most of the following competencies, and where possible possess the skills and experience listed below:

  • A Bachelor ́s Degree in Engineering.
  • Full membership (or eligible for membership) in Engineers Nova Scotia as a P.Eng. Member registered as an EIT will also be considered.
  • Strong analytical/computer skills and an aptitude for detailed process analysis.
  • The ideal candidate will have a background in project management.
  • Experience in Tableau, MS Project, and Excel.
  • Valid driver ́s license and be available to provide assistance/direction for after hour emergency service restoration.
