Job Description
  • Provide security patrols and response to incidents on assigned shifts.
  • Display excellent customer service skills and work with people under stress or in need of medical assistance.
  • Perform preventative and reactive duties, including interior and exterior patrols.
  • Provide Use of Force/Restraint as required and directed under the Mental Health Act.
  • Provide security escort service to staff and visitors as requested.
  • Provide motor vehicle assistance to staff and visitors as required.
  • Keep accurate logs and notebook entries of all shift activity and calls for service.
  • Write accurate reports upon investigations or reportable occurrences in a timely manner.
  • Investigate and follow-up on incidents, report writing, door opening requests, CCTV camera reviews.
  • Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary.
  • Responsible for all office duties, including ID badges, key distribution, lost and found.
Qualifications
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard license.
  • First Aid CPR - Level C Certification.
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent/post-secondary diploma or degree.
  • Minimum 1 year security related experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills in English.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant Federal, Provincial, Municipal laws and By-laws.
  • Ability to walk/stand/climb stairs for extended periods of time in all weather conditions.
