The OpportunityWe are seeking a Mining Engineering Co-op Student to join our Mines Technical Services Department in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a 8-12 month-fixed term co-op position starting in January 2025 or May 2025.
- Assist with engineering planning, design, and ventilation design for our Mines Technical Services Department
- Develop skills and abilities related to the provision of engineering to Ontario Operations
- Ensure compliance to applicable regulations, standards, and guidelines
- Utilize good engineering practices while minimizing costs
- Provide technical support to enable safe and cost-effective operations
- Monitor process parameters and communicate changes outside normal operational conditions to supervisor
- Complete assigned projects safely and on time
We are looking for a student currently enrolled and in good standing in a Mining Co-operative Engineering program. You should have:
- Knowledge and experience in Windows based applications and Microsoft
- Organizational, interpersonal communication, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a proven safety record
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment
- Maintain a high level of professional conduct
- Be obsessed with safety and risk
