Job SummaryWe are seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team and provide services within various teams, including the Autism Diagnostic Hub and Autism Intervention, Northwestern Ontario FASD Diagnostic Hub, Complex Feeding and Swallowing Clinic, Augmentative and Alternative Communication Clinic, and School Support Services. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will engage in the screening, assessment, interpretation, and rehabilitation of individuals with speech, language, feeding, and swallowing impairments.
Key Responsibilities- Screen, assess, interpret, and rehabilitate individuals with speech, language, feeding, and swallowing impairments.
- Participate in diagnostic clinics with other team professionals.
- Provide information and support to family/caregivers to facilitate an understanding of client's strengths and caregiver-directed goal attainment.
- Facilitate access to community resources necessary to promote the optimal level of functioning of the client and family/caregiver.
- Work collaboratively with caregivers and other service providers and educators to meet identified needs and enhance delivery of care.
- Maintain documentation as per CASLPO guidelines and FIREFLY policies and procedures.
- Supervise communication assistants, including determining appropriate clients to assign, developing clear therapy goals and plan, and direct and indirect supervision.
- Master's degree in Communication Disorders.
- Member in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario.
- Demonstrated planning, organizational, and facilitation skills.
- Understanding of the Anishinaabe culture, First Nation communities, and language is a definite asset.
- Fluency in French would be an asset.
- Clinical supervision, support, and mentorship for both new and seasoned clinicians.
