DHL Global Forwarding (DGF) is currently seeking a Head of Regional Security & Operational Resilience (Canada and US Central) responsible for the development and coordination of Security, Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Health & Safety initiatives aligned with the divisional and Group strategy.

This role manages and leads the Regional Security, Business Continuity, Government Compliance Programs for Canada (Controlled Goods, Firearms, Industry Canada, Air Cargo, PIP) and Health & Safety department. As part of the DGF VAS (Value Added Services) the role contributes to the development and provision of products and services to support business growth.

IN THIS JOB YOU WILL:

  • Advocate the development of the VAS unit by developing innovative services (e.g., security) or products that bring additional value propositions to the customers and demonstrate industry leadership.
  • Actively provide customer service and assistance to KAM and M&S by participating in negotiation with Regional accounts & customers.
  • Set up appropriate security structure in the Region to protect Employees, Company & Customer assets.
  • Support the division strategy development by advising products and operations in all aspects of Security, BCM and Health &Safety
  • Ensure that Regional policies are amended to regional needs and are aligned with corporate guidelines and existing global standards (e.g. ISO 22301, OHSAS 18001)
  • Serve as a member of the Regional DGFF Compliance panel and support compliance investigations as appropriate.
  • Monitor and analyze security incident trends in the Region and provide advice to mitigate risks.
  • Direct and monitor investigations concerning all aspects and violations of supply chain security.
  • Lead and direct investigations concerning criminal and civil violations of law perpetrated against DGF and/or its employees.
  • Leads and directs investigations concerning criminal and civil misconduct of employees and vendors which have a nexus to DGF.
  • Leverage company culture by actively promoting Security, BCM and H&S in the company by using all internal communication channels.
  • Direct and monitor conformance to Security requirements of applicable Customs programs (i.e.: C-TPAT; AEO; PIP) and Airline Security programs (i.e.: TSA)
  • Work together with Operations, Product & Service functions and steers the development of divisional policies and guidelines for Security, BCM and H&S aligned with Corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Actively manage and lead the integrated Security, Operational Resilience (BCM) and Health & Safety Department on a Regional level

YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 15 years in security or operational risks or similar law enforcement experience.
  • Expertise and strong skills in working & managing issues in a multi-national and cross-divisional environment.
  • Analytical skills and solution oriented when identifying security, Operational Resilience and Health & Safety trends.
  • Professional investigation skills in a wide array of topics with emphasis on international white-collar crime and fraud schemes
  • Asset protection professional (Human and financial assets)
  • High Crisis management & BCM capabilities
  • Solid understanding of security, Health& Safety and BCM standards
  • Proven experience in the field of logistics and transportation
  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills
  • Proficiency in change management and negotiation skills
  • Experience in setting and driving strategic direction.
  • Excellent communication skills and also cross-cultural competency and interpersonal understanding
  • College degree; CPP; CFE; CFI or similar qualifications preferred.
  • Able to travel through US & Canada
