**Registered Nurse - Emergency Department**
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in our emergency department, working collaboratively with an interprofessional care team to deliver person-centered care.
**Job Description**
The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, providing, and evaluating nursing care to patients in the emergency department. Key responsibilities include:
• Assessing patients and collecting information from various sources to make a nursing diagnosis and determine the effectiveness of nursing interventions
• Collaborating with patients and their families/caregivers to develop and implement care plans
• Participating in the care and discharge planning process for patients on admission
• Coordinating nursing care for patients, setting priorities, and delegating tasks to support staff
• Collaborating with members of the interprofessional care team to identify and resolve issues and adjust care plans as needed
• Teaching patients and families/caregivers about illness prevention, health restoration, and health maintenance
• Documenting assessments, nursing diagnoses, observations, interventions, patient/family responses, outcomes/evaluations, and referrals according to practice standards and Fraser Health procedures
**Qualifications**
• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
• Completion of applicable post-graduate coursework in emergency or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in emergency
• Ability to complete initial and ongoing patient assessment and provide nursing care through appropriate/prescribed technical, therapeutic, safety-type interventions
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families/caregivers, and members of the interprofessional care team
• Ability to promote person-centered care and integrate and evaluate data from multiple sources to problem-solve effectively
