Electrical Engineer or Technologist Job Description

Meridia Recruitment Solutions is partnering with EFP Engineering to recruit an experienced Electrical Engineer or Technologist to join their team in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The successful candidate will provide electrical design services for multi-residential construction projects, as well as commercial and industrial projects. Responsibilities will include conceptual and detailed design engineering, preparation of drawings and construction specifications, and collaboration with the team to produce electrical construction drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and implement reliable, cost-effective, and efficient electrical designs.
  • Produce electrical construction drawings and specifications to support project execution.
  • Attend project meetings and construction site visits.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with clients.
  • Assist engineers and other personnel with general duties, such as calculations, quantity take-offs, plotting, and scanning.
  • Develop detailed project schedules, tracking essential tasks, hours, and critical data points to ensure timely project completion.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Current registration or ability to register with Engineers Nova Scotia.
  • Senior Certified Engineering Technologist with equivalent experience may also be considered.
  • Working knowledge of architectural and electrical building systems, including national building and electrical codes.
  • Familiarity with fire alarm systems and power generation is an asset.
  • Experience in project management is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable problem-solving skills.
