Job Title: Payroll Analyst
Location: G3 Head Office, Winnipeg
The Payroll Analyst is responsible for all aspects of the payroll cycle ensuring all payments/transactions are processed in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer/process multi-provincial payrolls with varying pay frequencies for G3 hourly and salaried, union and non-union employees.
- Prepare account reconciliations, and remittances for all payroll, benefit and pension accounts.
- Resolve complex issues regarding taxable income and ensure pay practices are in compliance with federal and provincial employment standards.
- Complete all functions of year end processing such as applying year to date adjustments, reconciling year-end report to CRA remittances, finalizing T4's etc.
- Prepare payments for external billing statements and invoices.
- Create and or run reports from payroll system as required.
- Investigate and resolve payroll issues with management at various operating locations.
- Assists with administration of employee benefit and pension plans and fulfilling monthly and annual reporting requirements.
- Contribute ideas to streamline and improve procedures and develop documentation.
- Understand and maintain required payroll processes as outlined in the collective agreements.
- Assists with other accounting functions and projects as required.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Canadian Payroll Association's Certified Compliance Practitioner Program completed or in progress.
- Three to five years of payroll experience required.
- Strong analytical skills are required.
- Self-starter with a strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of provincial and federal wage and labor laws and employment practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
- Comprehensive knowledge of best payroll practices and trends.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and HRIS applications (Ceridian Dayforce experience an asset).
- Must be fluent in English; French is a definite asset.
