Shared Health is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Undergraduate Nursing Employee (UNE) to join our team. As a UNE, you will have the opportunity to consolidate your knowledge and skills acquired in your approved nursing education program towards competency in the range and complexity of Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) practice.

Job Summary

The UNE position provides an opportunity for nursing students to gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting while working under the supervision of a RN or RPN. You will be responsible for providing patient-centered care, working collaboratively with the healthcare team, and developing your clinical skills and competencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and quality nursing care to patients in a supervised assignment
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to achieve patient-centered care goals
  • Develop and maintain clinical skills and competencies in a variety of patient care settings
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance clinical practice
Requirements
  • Current enrollment in an approved nursing education program leading to initial entry to practice as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse
  • Successful completion of the third year or enrolled in third year with a minimum of 450 hours of clinical practice in an approved nursing education program
  • Completion of a clinical placement in medical/surgical or mental health setting
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and request guidance and consultation
  • Ability to accept direction and guidance and constructive feedback
  • Critical thinking skills, including clinical judgment, problem-solving, and evaluation skills
  • Basic use of technology and competency in computer, clinical electronic device use, and electronic documentation
