Job Summary

Fraser Health is seeking a skilled Clinical Therapist to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health team. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive assessments, treatment, and referral coordination for children, adolescents, and their families in acute mental health crisis.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to identify client and family needs, and develop treatment plans.
  2. Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based models such as Brief Therapy and Crisis Intervention.
  3. Collaborate with community resources and hospital staff to ensure a seamless continuum of care.
  4. Develop and facilitate educational workshops for mental health professionals, hospital staff, and community partners on mental health issues, crisis management, and early intervention.
  5. Network with community agencies and local hospitals to enhance intra-agency cooperation and develop relationships that support our clients.
  6. Participate in ongoing program evaluation and contribute to program and resource development to address gaps in service and meet client needs.
Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate with a Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Counselling, or a related health discipline, and two years of recent clinical experience in child and adolescent mental health. Eligibility for registration with a relevant professional association is also required.

The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of community response procedures, mental health assessment, and general counselling principles, as well as demonstrated skill in crisis intervention and individual, family, and group interventions.
