Summer Student Employment Opportunity

Job Title: ILMI Summer Student Assistant

Location of Position: Corner Brook, NL

Hours of Work: Monday-Thursday 8:30-4:00, Friday 8:30-12:30
Term of Employment: June 3, August 30, 2024 (may be adapted to align with schedule of successful candidate)

Rate of Pay: $17.30/hour, 35 hours a week

Job Description:
Qalipu First Nation is one of over 100 First Nation communities across Canada participating in a project to learn more about the Indigenous labour market. We are collecting surveys from members 15+ to gather valuable labour market information; what skills and experience currently exist, and what gaps need to be filled. We are launching an employer survey to help us better understand the labour market. As an ILMI Summer Student, ensuring all data collected is kept confidential and secure will be your top priority.

Responsibilities:

Recruit, schedule and conduct interviews with members of Qalipu First Nation and employers;

Coordinate the distribution of a high volume of gift cards to recipients via postal mail;

Maintain accurate records of recipients of all mailed items; and,

Provide other administrative support as required.

Eligibility Qualifications:
This successful candidate must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Must be planning to attend full-time studies in the upcoming academic year;

Must have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year; and,

Be a member of the Qalipu First Nation or Self-identified Indigenous Person
