Job SummaryThe Expert project manager at CN will take charge of managing end-to-end planning and delivery of multiple concurrent projects within the Transportation Solutions PMO. Responsibilities include overseeing all project aspects, setting deadlines, assigning tasks, and monitoring progress. Additionally, preparing reports for senior management and ensuring project portfolio benefits are realized.
The project manager will play a crucial role in deploying project governance, standards, and best practices. They will also supervise project team members as needed.
Main Responsibilities- Coordinate and complete large-scale complex projects;
- Manage project constraints and assumptions throughout the project lifecycle;
- Lead and direct project team members;
- Communicate effectively across different organizational levels;
- Ensure transparent project communication;
- Identify milestones and critical success factors;
- Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve project goals;
- Escalate issues and risks as required;
- Hand over project outcomes for successful closure.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT Project Management;
- Knowledge of data engineering concepts and technologies;
- Experience with mission-critical technology products/services delivery;
- Ability to think strategically while diving into technical details;
- PMP Certification or equivalent;
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Dev-Ops, CI/CD;
- Strong communication skills;
- Ability to deliver projects on time and within budget;
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills;
- Quick learner and adaptable to changing environments;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project and Excel/PowerPoint;
- Experience in the Transportation or Rail industry is a plus.
