Job Title: Fire Protection Engineer Job Description:

Join our team as a Fire Protection Engineer and contribute to the design and implementation of fire safety systems that protect our clients' assets and ensure their security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and review automatic fire sprinkler systems, ensuring compliance with current codes and standards.
  • Prepare and review drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and HydraCAD systems, considering architectural, structural, and mechanical plans.
  • Review fire protection design documents and confirm compliance with requirements.
  • Produce Engineering schedules and complete site inspections, preparing reports as needed.
  • Reproduce and draw sketches, drawings, and plans, arranging sprinklers according to current standards.
  • Verify drawings according to established procedures and participate in project meetings with project managers and other trades.
  • BIM coordination and project modeling, ordering materials based on coordinated drawings using HydraList.
  • Proceed to field surveys for installation drawings.
Required Qualifications:
  • P.Eng or P.Tech accreditation.
  • Valid APEGA or ASET membership.
  • Stamping authority in Alberta and/or Saskatchewan.
  • 5+ years of fire protection engineering and design experience.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, FM requirements, and other fire protection methodologies.
  • Proficiency in computer-assisted design with AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of HydraCAD (an asset).
  • Experience with BIM software, Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, or similar.
  • Valid driver's license and have a vehicle.
  • Knowledge of standards and codes governing design and installation of automatic fire protection systems.
