Lead the National Tax Services team for the Royal Trust business, responsible for tax compliance and providing tax advice on estate and trust account related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the strategic vision and direction of the team, overseeing the design and implementation of strategic and operational initiatives related to tax risk management.
  • Provide Canadian income tax advice to staff on estate and trust account related matters.
  • Act as subject matter expert for the business on the taxation of estates and trusts at the account level.
  • Identify and assess tax training needs of staff, delivering effective and superior tax training and materials.
  • Mentor, train, and develop tax staff on substantive and technical tax matters.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in tax advisory services and tax compliance in a public accounting firm or trust industry.
  • CA/CPA designation.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian income tax provisions applicable to estate and trusts.
  • Technological literacy (Tax Prep and Excel).
  • People management experience.

Nice to Have:

  • Bilingual.
  • TEP designation.
  • Corporate taxation and cross-border taxation expertise.
  • In-depth Tax Course (Levels 1-3).
