Senior Treaty Underwriter

Seeking an experienced and ambitious individual to manage property and casualty treaty underwriting for Canadian insurers, with a focus on client relationships and portfolio growth.

About the Role

The Senior Treaty Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating and negotiating treaty reinsurance programs, managing client relationships, and reporting on portfolio performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwriting: Evaluate renewal and new business treaty reinsurance programs, structure and negotiate terms and conditions, and evaluate pricing in conjunction with actuaries.
  • Client Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, market SCOR to insurance companies and reinsurance brokers, and organize client events.
  • Reporting and Account Management: Provide regular updates to SCOR Underwriting Management and SCOR Canada management on activities, client and portfolio results, and ensure compliance with SCOR guidelines.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the (re)insurance industry, with primary underwriting and/or reinsurance brokerage experience.
  • Underwriting education or experience, financial, actuarial, economic, or risk management background.
  • Proven leadership abilities and excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and deliver in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Bilingual in French is preferred.
