Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Underwriter to join our Individual Insurance team at Equitable Life of Canada. As an Underwriter, you will play a critical role in risk assessment for life and critical illness products, ensuring the highest level of quality and accuracy in your work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply advanced underwriting expertise to assess medical, financial, and non-medical risk factors
  • Consistently deliver high-quality work while managing daily volumes independently
  • Provide exceptional client experiences through proactive communication and relationship-building
  • Comply with legislative requirements, consumer regulations, and reinsurance treaties related to privacy, disclosure, and risk classification
  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement of underwriting processes and procedures

Requirements:

  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset
  • Superior technical knowledge in medical, financial, and non-medical underwriting
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong reinsurance relationships with negotiation skills
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
