VP, Psychological Injury & Continuous Improvement - WCB
Halifax, NS
Championing a culture of client focused innovation in the management and support of psychological injury
The Workers' Compensation Board of Nova Scotia (WCB Nova Scotia) is the province's provider of workplace injury insurance. Working with employers, workers and partners across the province, the organization protects Nova Scotians from the impact of workplace injuries through progressive return-to-work programs and by informing, inspiring and promoting healthy and safe workplaces. When an injury occurs, the organization supports those whose lives it touches, fostering a timely and safe return to work. They also provide caring, compassionate support over the long term in the wake of workplace tragedy.
Today is an exciting time in WCB Nova Scotia's history as it charts a new transformational path with a new Strategic Plan. In line with its transformational mandate, WCB Nova Scotia is seeking a Vice President, Psychological Injury & Continuous Improvement to provide operational leadership and oversee the launch of a new service offering for clients experiencing gradual onset psychological injuries. Reporting to the Chief Engagement Officer, the Vice President, Psychological Injury & Continuous Improvement will focus on driving operational excellence and fostering a culture of client-focused innovation and continuous improvement in the management and support of psychological injury claims and related services within the organization. They will ensure that processes are efficient, scalable, and aligned with delivering exceptional care, treatment, and support to injured workers in a safe and timely return to work. Emphasizing a disciplined and integrated approach to continuous improvement, the VP will implement structured methodologies to enhance service delivery and achieve seamless, client-focused outcomes. They will play a crucial role in ensuring that service enhancements are continuously refined based on client insights, data analysis, and performance metrics. The VP will possess a strategic, problem-solving, and analytical mindset, enabling them to assess data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
As a results-driven operational leader, the Vice President, Psychological Injury & Continuous Improvement will drive a culture of innovation and excellence in service delivery for gradual onset psychological injury, leading initiatives that continuously improve return-to-work outcomes and client satisfaction. They will provide strategic oversight and management to four psychological injury teams, ensuring that operational processes are optimized for efficiency and effectiveness. With a strong focus on key metrics, the VP will monitor emerging trends to ensure that WCBNS is not only meeting but exceeding its client service goals and advancing its organizational objectives. In addition, the VP will champion psychologically safe workplaces by collaborating with stakeholders and health care partners to drive awareness and advocacy for psychological health.
The ideal candidate has at least five years of leadership experience with a proven track record of continuous improvement, successful relationship building and improving customer experience. They have an undergraduate degree in health, sciences, social sciences, business, public or health administration. A master's degree in any of these fields along with an understanding of the Canadian workers' compensation legislation would be an asset.
