Job Summary:

The General Duty MRI Technologist will perform diagnostic MRI scans in accordance with established procedures, maintaining a safe environment and ensuring compliance with quality assurance programs and accreditation standards. The incumbent will work under the general supervision of the Charge Medical Technologist or designate and will be responsible for maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic MRI scans in accordance with established procedures
  • Maintain a safe environment and ensure compliance with quality assurance programs and accreditation standards
  • Work under the general supervision of the Charge Medical Technologist or designate
  • Develop and maintain a high level of professionalism and attention to detail
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved MRI training program with successful completion of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technology registration examinations (CAMRT)
  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Imaging Technology Program, eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (C.A.M.R.T.)
  • Current BCLS within the past 12 months or BCLS Instructor Certificate
  • Excellent dexterity in the ability to operate all diagnostic instrumentation according to approved scopes of practice
  • Follow oral and written instructions precisely with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills required in English
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member
  • Proficient analytical skills
  • Work under pressure
  • Maintains confidentiality with all information entrusted to the position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous related experience in MRI
  • Experience with Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Picture Archiving Systems (PACS)
  • Windows computer environment required
  • Microsoft Office programs preferred
