Job Summary- Perform a variety of clerical duties related to the operation of a patient care area
- Act as a communication link for the area, transcribing and processing physicians' orders
- Coordinate with other departments and facilities, patient appointments, and tests
- Assemble and maintain patient charts, and perform related clerical duties
- Prioritize, process, and coordinate physicians' orders
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, and arrange patient tests
- Act as a communication link for the assigned area, and receive and direct visitors

- Perform other related duties as required
- Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation of a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program
- One year of recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively, and physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm, and ability to organize work
