About the Team

Shopify has focused the last decade on solving complex problems for entrepreneurs by making commerce seamless and accessible. Now, we want to do the same for shoppers through the Shop product network, which includes Shop Identity. The Shop Identity product group is responsible for products like Shop Pay, used by over 150 million users globally, and related products including Shop Pay Installments, Shop Pay Express and Sign In with Shop, Follow on Shop, and Lead Capture.

About the role

The Shop Identity team is seeking a Senior Product Lead to lead our Sign in with Shop mission, widening the value proposition of sign and lead capture to existing merchants as well as growing to bring value to even more merchants and buyers. We have a very ambitious goal to position Shop as the default Sign in for E-commerce.

What you'll do:

  • Define long-term product strategy for consumer search and identify new problems and opportunities where Search can be leveraged at Shopify.
  • Be a leading voice in the company for IDPs (Identity Platforms), IAM and SSO trends, and how those can be applied into an actionable roadmap.
  • Have experience with sign in products such as FedCM, Sign in with Apple as well as experience in Lead Capture.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, design, data, marketing, finance, fraud, trust operations, and partnerships teams to ensure the implementation of high-quality and secure identity products.
  • Deeply understand customer (merchant and buyer) needs and advocate for future customers.
  • Continuously build trust and improve the team and product.
  • Ensure timely delivery of assigned work.
  • Maintain high standards of quality.
  • Take ownership of the success and quality of your products.
  • Drive cross-functional and cross-discipline stakeholder alignment.
  • Demonstrate good judgment and accuracy in decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical background in identity & sign in learning, including a deep understanding of tools and technologies which exist today.
  • Strong data analysis background with experience leading experiment-driven products.
  • Experience as a Product Manager at modern tech, consumer-facing app, and/or SaaS e-commerce companies.
  • Experience leading the definition, building, and shipping of complex technical products at scale.
  • Experience creating long-term product strategy and defining success metrics for your product areas.
  • Genuine user empathy and passion for solving their most complex problems with the products you ship.
  • Skills to drive 'build, partner, or acquire' decisions for your product area.
  • ​​​​​​Experience providing feedback and inputs in technical and architectural design.
  • The ability to distill technical concepts to business users and vice versa.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset - you must be comfortable rolling up your sleeves, thriving in ambiguity, and getting the work done.
  • Experience influencing key technical and non-technical stakeholders, driving buy-in for your ideas, and telling exceptional stories around why and what product you are building.
  • A talent for storytelling.
