Job Title: Camp Administrator

Reporting directly to the Manager, Site and Earthworks Construction, this role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day onsite camp activities, requests, and schedules. This role will support travel activities and liaises with onsite catering and housekeeping contractor and external travel service providers. The Camp Administrator will provide any required administration to the Site Manager, Site Services Manager and Health and Safety Manager when required.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Provide administrative support to the Manager, Site and Earthworks Construction at Eskay Creek.
  • Manage day to day camp requests and schedules, such as room assignments and maintenance requests.
  • Perform all administrative duties as required for camp operations and liaise with other departments on site as required (i.e. Supply and logistics, site services, camp maintenance, safety & engineering teams).
  • Attend and record minutes for meetings and organize any requested camp, site, or field-based functions.
  • Preparation, distribution, and communication of all required or directed, daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Utilize INX Camp Management System for all site related activities for room bookings, travel, scheduling, and policy compliance.
  • Liaise with and support the Travel lead as required to ensure all travel arrangements run smoothly.
  • Coordinate day to day camp requests, room assignments, travel requests and changes, charter transportation and resolve travel issues on crew change day.
  • Ensure all site access communication and requirements are met for employees and contractors arriving on site.
  • Compile reports, documents, meeting minutes and ppt presentations for site requirements.
  • Effectively communicate and resolve and travel, camp and charter transport issues.
  • Oversee and coordinate ground transportation for the staff moving in and out of camp on crew change days.
  • Communication and reporting of any camp incident reports.
  • Writing and submitting reports to support ongoing projects and site-based operations.
  • Overall Coordination of the various camp service operators to ensure both contractual and operating standard compliance is being met.
  • Ensure adherence to all Skeena camp protocols on operations in remote locations.
  • Complete regular safety inspections and ensure camp cleanliness standards are maintained to very high levels. This includes all common areas, lunch areas, and waste disposal areas.
  • Provide overall Site Fleet management support.
  • Lead the preparation and setting up of site-based meetings, presentations, events or gatherings.
  • Coordinate all required onsite training working with Safety and Security, for all new camp employees, visitors, and guests.
  • Understand all site related policies and health and safety protocol.
  • Manage policy sign off documents and coordinate orientation for people arriving on site; employees, contractors and visitors.
  • Demonstrate social awareness, professionalism, responsibility, commitment and compliance with Skeena procedures.
  • All other general administrative duties as required.
  • Any other duties reasonably assigned to you by the Employer.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in an Administrative role.
  • Grade 12 diploma with some post-secondary training or experience in Administration.
  • Familiarity with relevant BC and federal legislation and regulations (e.g., WorksafeBC guidelines, Mines Act, Occupational Health and Safety Legislation).
  • Previous administration experience in the mining and resource sector would be an advantage.
  • Must be highly proficient in MS Office – specifically Microsoft Excel, Word and PPT.
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly and effectively utilize systems for business needs.
  • Effective communication, strong organizational skills and fast learner.
  • Experience using INX is beneficial.
  • Possess excellent problem-solving skills, proactive and customer services oriented.
  • Adaptable to change, ability to operate in conditions and situations when processes and procedures are not set up yet.

Work Location and Conditions

This is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation.

The Eskay Creek Revitalization Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace or Smithers airports, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena's Travel Policy.

There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and water conditions, walking to and from different locations on uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.

The salary range provided is a guideline and an offer for this position would be based on the candidate's level of experience and qualifications.
