About the role

We're looking for a highly motivated Sales Development Manager to join our Sales team at our new Dallas location. This position offers a unique chance to build a rewarding career with a company that values growth and provides continuous opportunities for advancement.

Where You'll Work

Shopify is Digital by Design and our workforce is remote. As Shopify continues to expand its global presence, we're thrilled to announce that we're looking to open a new sales hub in Dallas We're looking for energetic Sales Development Representatives to join us and champion innovation and creativity while shaping the future of e-commerce. Successful hires will be required to work under a hybrid model spending 4 days a week (currently Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, subject to change) in the sales hub office in Dallas. This hybrid model is something we are trying on a temporary basis, for certain sales positions only. As such, you should be ready to pivot and be prepared for a future that is fully remote, fully hybrid, or something in between

Role Overview:

Our Sales Development team collaborates directly with notable brands and entrepreneurs. You'll help them launch or expand their commercial footprint, whether through e-commerce or physical retail. As a Shopify Sales Development Manager, you will play a vital role in scaling a high-performing team of Sales Development Representatives focused on our Retail segment. Your responsibilities will include leading a motivated team to generate leads, achieve quotas at individual, team, and organizational levels, and align sales development objectives with regional goals in a key market.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a team of high-performing SDRs, fostering an environment of success and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with team members to strategize and close high-value deals, engaging with key decision-makers up to the C-suite level.
  • Work alongside other department leads to enhance product offerings and optimize market penetration, aligning with overall business goals.
  • Utilize analytics and CRM tools to manage sales forecasts, pipeline activities, and territory planning, ensuring strategic and accurate use of data.
  • Lead by example, focusing on results, holding team members accountable to metrics and quotas while maintaining high team morale and performance.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • 3+ years of sales development management experience with a proven track of leading teams to exceed sales targets.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a focus on results, accountability, and team motivation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills — capable of building trusting relationships and effectively conveying the value of Shopify's offerings.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, capable of managing multiple projects and team members effectively.
  • Proficiency in key sales tools (e.g., Salesforce, Gong, Salesloft, LinkedIn) and a customer-centric, consultative sales approach.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to change.
