Job Summary:

Facilities Maintenance role at Glacier Discovery Centre, Glacier View Lodge, Glacier Skywalk and Icefield staff accommodation, assisting with maintenance requests and performing daily tasks.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily maintenance checks
  • Complete repairs within scope of experience/skill
  • Follow up on maintenance requests
  • Participate in seasonal annual opening and closing procedures
  • Book and coordinate contractors
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Mature, energetic, dependable and self-motivated individual
  • Ability to complete assignments with minimal supervision
  • Previous plumbing, electrical, building and carpentry experience preferred
  • Class 5 driver's license (unrestricted), required
  • Standard First Aid Certification, required (or willing to obtain prior to beginning work)
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and capable of manual duties, required
  • Proven ability to complete minor building repairs to proper building standards/codes
  • Organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail
  • Dependable, self-motivated and fully capable of working autonomously
  • Employee and public relations skills and a friendly/cooperative nature
  • Ability to take initiative and follow through on tasks needing attention
  • High attention to detail
  • Enjoy working with a team in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods of time in both an indoor and outdoor environment
  • Must meet the Organization grooming and appearance standards
