Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada opentext Full time

OPENTEXT
OpenText is a global leader in information management, where innovation, creativity, and collaboration are the key components of our corporate culture. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to partner with the most highly regarded companies in the world, tackle complex issues, and contribute to projects that shape the future of digital transformation.

OpenText Fortify is the industry-leading provider of Application Security solutions that empowers organizations to develop secure software. Fortify offers a comprehensive portfolio of application security solutions with a focus on enabling the CI/CD process and accelerating DevSecOps.

We're currently looking for a technical product manager to join our team, focusing on Fortify's Static Application Security Testing (SAST) technology. This technology currently supports 33+ programming languages, hundreds of development frameworks, and 1000+ vulnerability categories. This international role will put you in touch with customers, (pre)sales colleagues, engineering and the PM team scattered around the globe.

Fortify SAST Technical Product Manager Responsibilities:

  • Define requirements and scoping documents for new features, languages and frameworks to be supported. In many cases, this takes the form of writing short pieces of vulnerable code in which Fortify needs to detect the vulnerability. In general, a product manager wouldn't do coding, but a SAST product manager is an exception to that rule.
  • Stay in close contact with the R&D teams. Attend engineering scrum meetings, representing product management, eliminating any impediments.
  • Drive customer success by working closely with escalation, support and sales engineers to solve customer pain points. Triage enhancement requests coming in through support. Answer questions coming from sales engineers.
  • Willingness to participate in remote meetings outside of regular office hours when needed to support our global operation.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline

Experience and Skills:

  • You need to be a polyglot programmer. We don't expect you to be an expert in the 33+ languages we support; we do expect you to not be afraid of any one of them, and learn on the fly as needed. The ideal candidate will know a few languages well, and has a proven track record of learning others on an ad hoc basis when needed.
  • You need to have a strong affinity with application security and secure coding.
  • Experience with modern software development processes, tooling, architectures, languages and technologies (cloud native, containers, microservices, infrastructure-as-code, serverless functions, etc.)
  • Experience with Static Application Security Testing (SAST) and triaging/remediating security vulnerabilities in code.
  • Hands-on experience with Fortify SCA itself is a strong plus.
  • Proficiency in the English language is assumed, any additional language is a plus.
  • Experience in product management, support, or customer-facing role(s) a plus
  • Intellectually curious to successfully venture into unknown territory, gather data across multiple sources, obtain an understanding of the situation, and lead the way.
  • Delivering results within a defined scope, quality, and timeframe, dealing with obstacles.
  • Must be able to work a hybrid week schedule; 2 days remote office and 3 days onsite at our Mississauga, Ottawa, Richmond Hill or Waterloo office.
