Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Children's Activity Coordinator to join our team at the City of Vancouver. As a key member of our Out of School Care program, you will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging and developmentally appropriate activities for children aged 5-12.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement programming that meets the diverse needs of children in a multicultural community
  • Work collaboratively with a team of childcare workers to ensure safety and licensing requirements are met
  • Support the development of children's social, emotional, and cognitive skills through various activities and games
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with parents, staff, and external contacts
  • Provide training and work direction to substitutes and volunteers
Requirements
  • School Age Childcare certificate or Early Childhood Education or Responsible Adult certification
  • Food Safe certification
  • Current First Aid Certificate - Emergency Child Care first aid / cpr level b
  • Previous experience in an Out of School Care Program or similar children's recreation program
Preferred Qualifications
  • Class 4 driver's license
  • Ability to work split shifts and full-time hours on school closures
