Opportunity Overview

The Recreation Therapist role at Connecting Care is a part-time position, requiring 20 hours of work per week. This role is based in Drayton Valley, Alberta, and involves providing top-notch resident care with a strong focus on time management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee recreational care partner planning and scheduling, adhering to budget guidelines and ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Develop and implement recreation services and programs that cater to the unique needs and preferences of residents.
  • Collaborate with the care team to ensure seamless delivery of services and maintain a high level of resident satisfaction.
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring and continuous quality improvement to enhance the overall quality of care.
  • Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulatory standards, as well as maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements
  • Registered with the Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA) is required.
  • Experience in recreation programs and providing recreation therapist services is essential.
  • Supervision/leadership/educator/facilitation/resolution/investigation experience is necessary.
  • Proven performance in clinical practice is required.
  • A clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector check is mandatory prior to employment.
