About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Truck & Transport Technician to join our team at Inland Truck & Equipment. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining diesel engine industrial trucks according to dealership and factory specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on diesel engine industrial trucks with efficiency and accuracy, adhering to dealership and factory standards.
  • Analyze customer complaints and diagnose causes of malfunctions, performing repairs as needed.
  • Communicate with the parts department to obtain necessary parts.
  • Save and tag parts of the job if under warranty or requested by the customer.
  • Examine assigned vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
  • Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
  • Road test vehicles when required.
  • Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
  • Understand and comply with federal, provincial/state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal and occupational health & safety regulations.
Requirements
  • Qualification as a Licensed Truck & Transport Technician is essential.
  • Five years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer skills and experience are preferred.
  • A valid Driver's License is required, with a Class 3 with Airbrake Endorsement or Class 1 preferred for testing truck & trailer.
  • Commercial Vehicle Inspection (CVIP) Certification is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task.
  • Accountability and dependability with great time management.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and walk around the shop floor and exterior yard area.

  • A competitive pay range of $29.00 to $48.00 per hour, based on experience, plus additional premiums available based on certifications.
