Job Summary:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse I, you will provide nursing care and treatment services for physically ill, disabled, and/or cognitively impaired clients under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team and support the Registered Nurse in caring for clients with unpredictable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care and treatment services for clients under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team.
  • Support the Registered Nurse in caring for clients with unpredictable outcomes.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for clients.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a Registered Nurse.
  • Monitor and report changes in client condition to the Registered Nurse.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance client care.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from a practical nursing program approved by Central Health.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Current registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated competency in working to the full scope of practice (as per the CLPNNL and Central Health's policies and procedures) and standards of care relevant to designated client population.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in licensed practical nursing.

Working Conditions:

This position requires shift work and may involve working in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate must be able to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team and support the Registered Nurse in caring for clients with unpredictable outcomes.
