Minimum Qualifications:
  • Class DZ license
  • Road maintenance experience and familiarity with OTM book 7
  • Mechanical proficiency to operate various tools and heavy equipment
  • Availability for occasional on-call duties and flexible work shifts
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Capability to lift 50lbs
  • Basic understanding of computer operations
Day in the Life

As an ERU Crash Truck Operator, you will become intimately acquainted with the highways, responding promptly to calls from the MTO and emergency situations. Your duties will involve managing spills, accidents, inclement weather, and assisting in emergency plan implementation as required. Collaborating with various authorities such as the OPP, Toronto Fire, and EMS, you will ensure public safety, provide traffic control at accident scenes, and set up or remove traffic signs. Operating a range of equipment like tractors, mowers, loaders, and graders, you will also undertake minor highway repairs, conduct daily checks, and maintain equipment while ensuring accurate documentation.

Being a crucial part of the maintenance team, you will serve as a key contact in certain scenarios. If you possess a safety-oriented mindset and enjoy being on the road, this role is ideal for you.
