We are seeking a Foreperson to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional results for our customers, communities, and individuals.

Job Summary

The Foreperson will be responsible for supervising crews on construction sites, ensuring that duties are completed efficiently, effectively, and safely. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance to crews to ensure compliance with design, project specifications, regulations, and safety codes
  • Ensure crew compliance with all Health and Safety policies and regulations
  • Facilitate mandatory toolbox talks and ensure completion of daily job hazard assessments
  • Verify the quantity of necessary personal protective equipment and the replacement of any damaged equipment
  • Aid with the planning, organizing, direction, control, and evaluation of construction projects onsite from start to finish
  • Inspect and measure work completed, ensuring quality and accuracy
  • Represent the company to the public and maintain good working relationships with client representatives and consulting engineers
  • Work with crew to overcome any work challenges and periodically reassess daily goals to meet forecasted production
  • Maintain a two-week look ahead and communicate with client, subcontractors, and site superintendent
  • Address and resolve any issues that may arise between crew members and promote a positive team environment
  • Complete administrative duties onsite, including daily logs and photos, health and safety reports, quality reports, and compliance reports
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Flexible regarding hours worked and travel time
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and teach crew members
  • 2-5 years construction site supervision experience
  • Proficient in the principles of civil construction, including sewer and watermain, dry utilities, road and parking lot construction, earthworks, and grading
  • Working knowledge of practices, procedures, and documentation for fall protection, traffic control, hoisting and rigging, electrical hazards, signaller instructions, utility locates, and confined space
  • Takes responsibility and acts with integrity
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Valid G Class Driver's License with clean abstract
  • Ability to keep accurate records
  • Basic computer skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to Health & Safety
  • Strong attention to detail
