The National Gallery of Canada is seeking a bilingual Customer Service Assistant to work in a fast-paced retail environment, serving visitors from around the world.

Job Description

The Customer Service Assistant will act as lead cashier, responsible for daily restocking and ensuring the demands of a busy retail operation are met. The ideal candidate will be an integral part of creating an environment where everyone feels welcomed, working weekends, evenings, and statutory holidays.

Requirements
  • University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent soft skills
  • General knowledge of art history and interest in the arts
  • Extensive experience in retail operation, customer service, sales, inventory, and cash control
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment
