About the Opportunity

The Medical Device Reprocessing Technician works under the direction of the Medical Device Reprocessing Manager to effectively provide safe, clean, and sterile equipment, supplies, and instruments according to prescribed approved procedures and techniques. The technician ensures that the principles and practices that guide our work are integrated within the services they provide.

About You
  • Grade 12 plus graduate of recognized Medical Device Reprocessing Technicians' course
  • Minimum 9 months recent related experience an asset
  • Medical Terminology an asset
  • Knowledge of sterile supply processing equipment
  • Demonstrates understanding of the role of Medical Device Reprocessing in the delivery of patient care
  • Demonstrates accountability, sound judgment, and decision making skills
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation
  • Demonstrates leadership abilities and manual and finger dexterity
  • Knowledge of or previous experience in nursing, infection control or microbiology
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Where there are no applicants who have completed the Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Program, consideration may be given to applicants who are currently enrolled in an approved Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Program or who commit to completing this program at their own expense within the first 12 months of employment.

Hours
  • Permanent Full-Time Position; 75 Hours Biweekly
  • 7.5 hour shifts including evening, weekend and holidays
  • On-call for the reprocessing of Endoscopes
  • Travel may be required
Compensation and Benefits

Medical Device Reprocessing Technician: $24.68 hourly
