We're seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team in a Permanent Part-Time role with approximately 30 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up equipment and supplies for food preparation.
  • Prepare meals and snacks according to production sheets, recipes, and other menu documents.
  • Provide for prescribed diets, at appropriate temperatures, and in portion-controlled quantities.
  • Monitor quality of food supplies received and advise team leaders of problems and make recommendations for corrective action.
  • Assume responsibility for departmental operations, including menu changes, requisitions, and purchases of food and other supplies.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Experience with cooking in institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality settings.
  • A valid Safe Food Handling Certificate.
  • Grade 12 minimum education required.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence.
  • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check.

Bonus Points:

  • Graduate of a recognized college food preparation program and willing to Red Seal certify.
