About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and analyzing opportunities for sustainable growth, including exploration and development stage projects. Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the management of South32's royalty portfolio, including reviewing underlying assets and maintaining the internal valuation model.
- Providing commercial support to the Exploration team, including negotiating confidentiality agreements and coordinating due diligence investigations.
- Securing early-stage development opportunities through equity investments and joint venture agreements.
- Managing existing equity investments and providing analytical support for new downstream businesses and battery minerals products.
We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in commercial or quantitative science disciplines. Key requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree or post-graduate studies degree in a commercial or quantitative science discipline.
- More than 2 years' experience in the resources industry, management consulting, investment banking, or a relevant commercial-focused role.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Good understanding of economics, corporate finance, and valuation methodologies.
