What you'll do

The AI and Data Sciences Chapter Manager will lead efforts to design and build next generation capabilities in AI and Data Sciences. Equipped as a leader in this space they will be challenged to drive adoption and rollout of AI driven solutions that accelerate productivity in software delivery and enhance our customer experiences by leveraging data and Generative AI.

  • Ability to drive work in an uncertain environment. As generative AI and its applications are emerging an ability to drive consensus and ensure progress is essential
  • Experience managing Python based development and a strong understanding of the language and popular frameworks
  • Lead a team consisting of Python developers including resource allocation, performance management, coaching, mentoring, and day-to-day support
  • Lead projects, set standards, coach, mentor, and encourage team members
  • Manage team priorities and delivery of business requirements through agile delivery (SAFe)
  • A strong understanding of Generative AI including prompt engineering and model selection
  • Experience tuning models is a strong asset
  • Drive investigation and adoption of new and emerging AI/ML capabilities
  • Ability to define patterns around data pipelines and storage to encourage re-use within the team
  • Understand how to enforce clean code and excellent engineering practices as part of managing a team of developers
  • Work with the SRE team to ensure cloud-based solutions provide sufficient telemetry to support SLAs and operations
  • Lead the technical design of Data & AI related solutions and collaborate with the architecture team
  • Modernize engineering practices and drive continual improvements in our ways of working
  • Partner with multiple technical and business stakeholders providing technical expertise for Data and AI related issues
  • Provide hands-on-keyboard support to the team where required

What you bring

  • 7+ years I.T. experience in progressive development, design, and management related positions
  • 5+ years of experience deploying AI/ML based solutions
  • 3+ years of experience building big data solutions including Python, SQL, or similar technologies such as SAS, Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Pig or R
  • 3+ years working in an Azure or similar environment
  • Deep understanding of statistical analysis and how to process large data sets
  • Experience working with unstructured data that comes from disparate sources and use that to provide insightful research and insights
  • Strong experience working with Python and cloud services such as Azure Service Bus, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure OpenAI, Databricks
  • Strong hands-on experience with building and deploying microservices and data pipelines using tooling such as Docker, Kubernetes, service mesh, API Gateways
  • Experience interpreting and applying security best practices to create, harden and secure infrastructure and applications
  • Understanding of the cloud ecosystem and leading-edge emerging data & AI technologies
  • Understanding of event-driven/reactive architectures and integrations
  • Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Excellent analytics, problem solving and solutioning skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
