About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Distribution Centre Manager to join our Contract Logistics team at Kuehne+Nagel. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and leading the execution of work processes across the distribution center to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service Excellence: Lead customer negotiations and ensure a proactive approach to relationship management.
  • New Business Implementation: Participate in project management to ensure successful implementation of new business initiatives.
  • Bid Management: Participate in bids, tenders, and RFPs, ensuring accuracy in billing and invoicing.
  • Performance Management: Review monthly forecasts, identify areas for improvement, and report deviations to plan.
  • Team Leadership: Responsible for the performance of direct reports, setting SMART goals, and promoting employee engagement and retention.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with Senior Management to ensure efficient, standardized, and best-in-class logistics operations.
  • Safety and Compliance: Promote a culture of safety, ensuring all reasonable precautions are taken to protect workers, and support local implementation of KNPS Bronze, Silver, and Gold certifications.
  • Long-Range Planning: Plan labor requirements based on sales forecasts and input from direct reports.
  • Space Utilization: Develop space utilization plans to meet prescribed cost and service standards.
  • Training and Development: Participate in process-specific training and adhere to all quality and regulatory requirements.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in logistics and leadership. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A diploma or degree in International Business, Transportation, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of leadership experience in a pharmaceutical distribution center.
  • 7+ years of proven experience as a distribution manager or in a similar managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety and employment standards legislation.
  • Extensive experience with various production and quality systems.
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Professional certifications such as CSCP/PMP/CIT would be an asset.
