The City of Pitt Meadows is seeking a highly skilled Accountant II to join our Financial Services Department. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform intermediate accounting work, including account analysis, financial report preparation, and statistical record maintenance.
- Supervise a small team and assign tasks to ensure efficient workflow.
- Prepare and review monthly budget reports, ensuring expenditures align with approved budgets.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- High school graduation plus professional accounting designation and considerable related experience (municipal experience an asset).
- Preference given to candidates with a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Strong knowledge of accounting methods and procedures.
- Proficiency in various computer applications used in the work.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
