**Job Description**
Telesat is a leading global satellite operator providing reliable and secure satellite-delivered communications solutions worldwide. Our revolutionary Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network, Telesat Lightspeed, will revolutionize global broadband connectivity for enterprise users. As a Supply Chain Contract Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the company's objectives and program needs.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of corporate policies and purchasing processes to mitigate potential risks to Telesat.
* Exercise independent authority in planning, scheduling, organizing, controlling, and monitoring supply chain activities.
* Implement effective and compliant acquisition practices to achieve program and company objectives.
* Own contractual supply chain management functions for assigned vendors.
* Perform supply chain risk assessments, undertake due diligence tasks, and provide procurement expert knowledge in support of the engineering/project team.
* Collaborate with the Legal department to draft and implement contract templates.
* Manage supplier performance throughout the execution lifecycle.
* Monitor established supplier contracts through to completion.
* Use initiative and sound judgment to adapt procedures and develop creative solutions to resolve complex problems.
* Identify risks, communicate them to internal stakeholders, and recommend mitigation strategies.
* Demonstrate effective financial stewardship through budget monitoring and ongoing cost reduction goal setting.
* Seek out continuous improvements to procurement-related systems and processes.
* Establish, foster, and maintain good working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
**Requirements**
* Bachelor's or higher level university degree in a relevant discipline such as Commerce, Finance, or Engineering.
* 5+ years of experience working in supply chain or procurement, ideally in a complex technology-based environment with long-term programs and multiple supplier contracts.
* Professional designation in Procurement (e.g., CSCMP) is desirable but not mandatory.
* Experience in the planning, developing, and maintaining of contract processes, contract drafting, and negotiations.

* Capacity to manage time in a fast-paced environment with occasionally overlapping priorities.

* Able to work independently as well as collaboratively part of a team.
* Bilingual in English and French an asset (but not required).
