Job Summary: Engineering Technician III responsible for project supervision, administration, and workflow management in a construction environment, utilizing knowledge of building instrumentation, automation, and HVAC systems.

The Engineering Technician III is a key role within the Infrastructure Support Program - Quality Initiatives, responsible for carrying out project supervision and administration of construction projects. This position requires a strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and policies, as well as experience in a construction or design environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Compiling and maintaining a comprehensive database of building information, including technical requirements and drawings
  • Creating, modifying, and reviewing drawings to ensure compliance with code requirements
  • Performing inspections and audits of work on moderate to large projects
  • Providing technical support on codes and standards issues
  • Coordinating specific projects, including interpreting codes, assessing buildings, and preparing plans

This position works closely with the Manager Quality Initiatives and interacts frequently with the Facility Management group. Travel is required through all Eastern Health geographical footprint.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A recognized three-year Engineering Technology diploma in Architectural Engineering Technology
  • A minimum of five years of experience working as an Engineering Technologist
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations
  • Knowledge of building instrumentation and automation systems
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical and mechanical systems, and AutoCad software
  • Leadership and project management skills, time management, and communication skills
