About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Indigenous Educator to join our team at the University Health Network. As a key member of our Indigenous Health Program, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing learning modules and workshops to support the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's health-related Calls to Action.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement cultural safety educational initiatives for clinicians and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Create a learning space for researchers, staff, and trainees to promote creative, art-based learning opportunities.
  • Establish and strengthen partnerships with First Nations, Inuit, Métis, and urban Indigenous organizations and community members to support educational opportunities and identify knowledge gaps related to Indigenous health research.
  • Facilitate educational sessions with departments regarding Indigenous health and ensure work is grounded in rights-based and strengths-based frameworks.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in health administration, business administration, education, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in Indigenous programs related to healthcare and/or education.
  • Lived experience and knowledge of Indigenous health practices.
  • Experience in research and developing cultural safety and educational materials.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous Nations, community engagement, and cultural protocols.
