Business Systems Analyst Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our IT Services team at the City of New Westminster. As a seasoned professional, you will be responsible for analyzing business requirements and recommending solutions for our Land, Council, and Library systems, including Horizon, Tempest, and eScribe.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing reports and queries using various tools, including Tempest ReportBuilder Tools, SSRS, and SQL Management Studio
  • Developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting interfaces between systems using SQL and proprietary vendor tools
  • Managing user accounts and security
  • Providing troubleshooting assistance and end-user support to our business departments
  • Configuring existing system functionality to meet business requirements
  • Researching and enabling new system functionality
  • Installing software updates and facilitating user testing
  • Performing Microsoft SQL database administration
  • Creating queries, updating, importing, and exporting data
  • Working with vendors and their support channels to meet business requirements
  • Performing routine system admin tasks
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in an IT Systems related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience working in an IT department in a Systems Analyst or similar role
  • Experience working in a Municipal IT department in a Systems Analyst related role is an asset
  • Canadian citizenship or permanent residency
  • Ability to complete and pass a Police Information Check
Desirable Skills:
  • Proven hands-on experience with Municipal enterprise applications
  • Ability to provide advice and recommendations on technical matters related to Land/Property tax/Permitting
  • Experience with data integration technologies and web development
  • Ability to act as a primary IT system owner and provide technical support
  • Flexible and able to manage simultaneous priorities, pressures, and deadlines
