Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a skilled Warehouse Operator to join our team in Brantford, Canada. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the factory, while maintaining accurate inventory counts and transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety
    • Knowledge and understanding of company safety policy, systems, and good practice relevant to Sourcing Unit and the responsibility placed upon individuals.
    • Ensure that procedures and practice adhere to safety policy and legislation.
    • Report all safety-related issues and near misses to supervisor.
    • Operate industrial vehicles in a manner that does not endanger any person or property.
    • Wear required PPE while performing all job duties.
  • Workplace Hazards
    • Full knowledge of the workplace and hazards within it.
    • Utilize appropriate safety and environmental procedures for people, processes, materials, products, and equipment relevant to the tasks in your area.
    • Work areas include conveyors and power industrial vehicles.
    • Work areas may include cold work environments.
  • Quality
    • Knowledge of product quality and food safety procedures for the warehouse.
    • Contribute to quality-related training and complete assessments.
    • Monitor product and packaging to ensure they meet or exceed all quality standards.
    • Identify material defects at the point of receipt and notify appropriate personnel.
  • Operational Activities
    • Conduct effective hand-over activities and record events that have occurred during shift.
    • Count all available packaging required for two shifts.
    • Review production schedule and contact shipping office if packaging is needed by a certain time.
    • Check production lines for any upcoming line changes.
    • Ensure supplies are stored for all lines in a timely manner.
  • Environmental
    • Follow proper containment and reporting procedures for environmental releases.
    • Reduce costs due to waste and minimize impact to health, safety, and the environment.
  • Problem Solving
    • Awareness of how to identify, prioritize, and address problems using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Teamwork
    • Good team player capable of working within a highly effective team.
  • World Class Manufacturing (WCM)
    • Awareness of how to use performance measures to identify and prioritize losses in production area.
    • Complete F-Tags accurately and completely.
  • Tools and Equipment
    • Licensed operation of required powered industrial vehicles.
    • RF scanner gun.
    • Basic computer skills to work with SAP.
    • Calculator.

About You

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Warehouse Operator who possesses the following qualifications:

  • 2-3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior SAP experience an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well within a team environment.
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs. maximum.
