Job Overview

Reports to: Foreman, Welding Shop
Shift: 14 x 14, 12 hours per shift, rotational between days and nights
Allowances: Additional premiums and allowances are associated with this position due to location
Location: Fort McMurray, AB
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation.

Responsibilities
  • Perform welding tasks on mining equipment, both in the field and in the shop, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Utilize GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW welding techniques, as well as oxy/fuel cutting equipment and electric welding machines, to achieve high-quality results.
  • Maintain company quality standards and ensure a clean, orderly, and safe work environment at all times.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the safety of all team members and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform maintenance and repair work at client sites, adhering to strict deadlines and quality standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate and efficient completion of tasks.
Qualifications
  • Certified Journeyman qualified to work in the province of Alberta.
  • Preference will be given to dual-ticketed Journeyman – welding and machining.
  • 3 to 7 years of welding experience, with a strong background in mining equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Must have no restrictions for access to any mine site.
  • Valid Alberta Driver's License.
