About the Role

CN is seeking a skilled Fleet Management Garage professional to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and Maintenance: Perform minor and major repairs, servicing, and upfitting on various types of vehicles, including cars, light trucks, medium/heavy trucks, and truck trailers.
  • Welding and Fabrication: Use electric and oxy-acetylene welding equipment to perform repairs and fabricate parts as needed.
  • Record Keeping: Accurately record details on prescribed forms in accordance with established procedures.
  • Field Work: Perform duties in-shop, outside, and at field locations as required, including variable shifts to accommodate vehicle availability.
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications: Possess a valid Provincial Department of Labor Journeyman Certificate in the Heavy Duty or Commercial Transport Mechanical Repair Trade.
  • Experience: Have at least five years' experience in the Heavy Duty or Commercial Transport repair trade.
  • Skills: Be capable of certifying company equipment in accordance with Provincial/Regulatory standards, operating all types of vehicles and equipment serviced in the garage, and possessing own basic hand tools sufficient to perform repairs and servicing.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a shop environment, with occasional outside work at terminals and in the field. Variable shifts to accommodate vehicle availability may be required, and prolonged stays away from home may be necessary when performing fieldwork.
